The voice of our clients.

Since 2021, we have asked 1,000 clients where we do well and where we can do better. Our strongest attributes align to our values and purpose: we understand client objectives and they enjoy working with us.

We all have levers we can pull to make changes in the world. Aligning ourselves with professionals who share our values is becoming increasingly important to us.”

Melissa Murdoch, Impact Investor, The Glasshouse and Trustee of the Garfield Weston Foundation

Funding big ambitions.

The Conduit Connect brings mission-aligned innovators together with investors to solve the critical issues of our time. Our team has been there from the start in 2018, structuring the business and raising equity and capital to unlock growth. Our client is now supporting over 90 purpose-driven enterprises. One of these is MiAlgae, a biotech company and finalist in the 2024 Earthshot Prize ‘Revive Our Oceans’ category. They are growing microalgae using by-products from whisky distillation to eliminate the world’s reliance on wild-caught fish as a primary source of Omega-3.

Supporting our clients’ legal teams.

Over the last 5 years, we have hosted an in-house legal forum to help our clients' legal teams navigate the multiple and often complex issues faced by their businesses. One participant, senior counsel from Eurotunnel, Mike Murphy, describes the impact it has had for him. “The space the Cripps in-house forum provides us helps identify what we’re doing right and what we might do better through the shared experiences of our peers”.

Helping clients stay ahead of the curve in tech developments.

2024 was the year of AI consultations. As we all grapple with the impact of AI on our world, the regulators attempt to apply old law to new technology. Our technology team brought together 20 clients throughout the year to deliver joined-up responses to consultations with the Information Commissioners Office, the Intellectual Property Office and the Department of Science Innovation and Technology. By inviting clients to collaborate with us in this process, we are providing a platform for them as thought leaders and an opportunity to co-develop our shared expertise in AI.

Investing in clean travel.

Ocean Infinity is a marine robotics company transforming operations at sea and accelerating decarbonisation in the maritime industry. We have helped our client grow through acquisitions of other purpose-driven business over the last 6 years. The latest took them from sea to land with B Corp company Beryl Bikes. Ocean Infinity aim to scale this e-bike and bike-share business to help make our cities cleaner, healthier and better places to live.

Solving problems with creativity.

We care about solving our clients’ problems and want to achieve the best outcomes together. Sprint Valley is a consultancy using design thinking and behavioural science to empower teams to navigate complexity and transform results. We have partnered with them since 2020. In 2024, two of our key clients used Sprint Valley’s expertise alongside our knowledge of the clients’ culture to apply design thinking to a specific challenge. We funded and ran this programme and helped each client move closer to solving complex internal issues, neither involving the law. Problem solving with our clients outside our legal expertise allows us to explore a more rounded and commercially relevant relationship to deliver greater impact through our legal services.

We can achieve more.

  • Client satisfaction is high. But there is room to be more transparent in our pricing and communications so clients are assured of cost and value.
  • To be human first, we must approach problems from a creative, as well as a legal, standpoint. This will help clients drive purposeful ambition.
  • Female Leaders – we have committed to making a difference and there’s plenty of room to improve and grow our impact.
